Hi there, I’m Shannon Solieva.

Welcome to my practice, I’m so glad you found me.

* SE students: I am an approved Session Provider at the Beginning Level.

The entirety of my practice is devoted to helping people reconnect to their whole selves, and to come into coherence through all of their layers – body, mind, spirit, and the subconscious. I blend my training in Somatic Experiencing, Hypnotherapy, and Psychedelic Facilitation with years of experience as a Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher to create a container that can hold – and support – each person as the complex, multifaceted human being that they are. I believe that the most valuable thing we can do for anyone is to show up as a fellow human being – to meet them on a level beyond modalities and interventions, and create the space for them to come into contact with their Innate Healing Intelligence.

I firmly believe that underneath all of our life’s experiences, we are whole. There's a part of you that knows how to find and live the life that's meant for you. The part of you that knows how to be who you are in a way that's clear, coherent, and unyielding. That's the part of you I'm in service to – my calling is to help you find it and watch you take root in that fertile soil.

My job is to make sure that all of you is aligned with your desired outcomes, so that your goals become not only achievable, but inevitable. I pull from many different methodologies to craft a bespoke therapeutic journey. Whether you're working on integrating your past, optimizing your life, finding your peak performance state, recovering from loss, or simply looking for clarity and coherence - I'd be honored to help. I’m on your side and in your corner, you don’t have to do any of this alone.

Wherever you are on your journey, you'll be held with warmth, genuine care, and compassion.

Change is easier than you think - you just have to want it, I'll help with the rest. I offer free 20-minute consultations, so feel free to book yourself in to see if we're a good fit. I can't wait to meet you and hold space for the most authentic version of you to emerge.

Talk soon,
Shannon

200hr Yoga Teacher Training - Gaiatri, Edmonton, 2013

I am also a member of the following professional organizations: Somatic Experiencing International, International Institute for Complimentary Therapists, IAPCP

* Please note that I completed all of the Psychedelic Facilitation program coursework, but chose to do the experiential part of psychedelic facilitation with other healers in Canada (vs. taking the international options offered by SoundMind). I felt that it was more important for me to have those experiences within local communities I’m a part of.
Because of that, I don’t have the full SoundMind certificate - but they do issue program transcripts for those who choose this route. You can see my transcript here.

Formal Education

I firmly believe that wisdom, insight, and competence come in many forms and from many sources. I believe in decolonizing our ideas of “education” and breaking them out of the confines of stiff and arbitrary curricula collapsing the vast multitudes of human experience into misguided dichotomies. I encourage you to question what truly qualifies someone to be a teacher or a healer of any kind, and invite you to widen the aperture of what knowledge counts as “education”.

I believe that all information becomes infinitely more valuable once it moves from being understood to being lived - felt, experienced, integrated. Therefore all lived experience is as valuable (if not more so) than information received in any other way. Ultimately, we need a balance of both - our lived experience and broader understanding to help us integrate and get the most out of what we’ve been through. With that in mind, I’d be remiss if I didn’t include this section on this page.

Much of my informal education comes from over 15 years of my own therapy, plant medicine work, and personal exploration. The many thousands of hours I’ve spent in deep conversation with those I trust and admire, the profound healing that can happen in the simplicity of being with a loving, attuned other. I will forever be grateful to the teachers and healers who have held space for me to feel all of the pain of my lived experience - and helped me emerge with a deep remembering of who I am outside of it all. I bow in awe and reverence to the Great Mystery that speaks to me through my dreams and meditations, and guides me through the subtle whispers of my intuition. I couldn’t do this work without this vast network of support I’m woven into, and I am honored to carry the wisdom of all of these experiences into my life and my work in a myriad ways.

I’ve attended innumerable workshops, lectures, immersions, conferences, retreats. I’ve read hundreds of articles and books that have been blended into the multifaceted approach I now take in my sessions. Yet some of my most profound insights come from working with people just like you. I have such deep reverence for the incredible intelligence of each person’s innate drive to heal, and it is such an honor for me to hold space for that process to unfold. I’m always aware of how sacred this work is, and I am truly humbled by the trust and vulnerability of those who allow me to be a part of their journey.

Ultimately, I believe that competence comes from truly loving the work that you do - and there’s nothing I love more than helping people remember who they are.

Informal Education

I’m trained as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Psychedelic Facilitator, Hypnotherapist, and Yoga Teacher - as you’ve seen above, I’m certified in various disciplines, but I am not licensed. I deliberately chose not to pursue the path to licensure, because I prefer to have a practice that’s flexible, multifaceted, and geographically unbound. I choose disciplines that align with my values and hold a wider aperture of what it means to be a whole, healthy human. I also have the freedom to prioritize bodies of knowledge that have been in practice for much longer than accredited institutions have been in existence.

I live in British Columbia, Canada - but I work with people from all over the world. Our sessions will likely not be covered by your health insurance plan, although some of my clients were able to claim our sessions through their health spending accounts.
