Modalities
What you think is only the tip of the iceberg.
The majority of your stories and memories are held in your body and your subconscious in ways that aren’t usually known to you.
Most of us have created our entire identities in response to environments and circumstances we didn't choose. Taking charge of who you are and how you show up in the world will require an approach that can create coherence through all layers of you - body, mind, and subconscious.
All of the modalities I work with help to integrate all parts of you into one coherent whole. Together we’ll make sure that all of you is in alignment with your desired outcomes - making them not only possible, but inevitable.
The modalities listed below are the major ones I’ve been trained in, but I also bring in bits and pieces of many other disciplines and philosophies to support whatever comes up in our process.

This one is all about your body and your nervous system. The reason why change often feels impossible is because the body might be stuck in a narrow range of stress and threat-related states. In those states, your available range of thinking and feeling is very limited - you might feel hypervigilant (anxious), perpetually angry and/or sad, numb / dissociated or depressed, and might be engaging in a variety of self-soothing behaviors that may or may not be supportive.
Somatic Experiencing helps to unwind those stuck patterns in the body, so you have more access to other states of being. It helps to unburden your body from its past experiences, ground it in the present, and prepare it for the capacity it will need to match your desired outcomes. When your nervous system is more regulated, everything will feel different. It’s a process that restores your choice and agency, so you no longer have to feel like you’re skidding from one situation to the next. This work has had the most profound influence on my life, and I can’t wait for you to discover its simple and elegant brilliance.
Ideal for: trauma processing, stress-related disorders, anxiety, depression, PTSD, wide range of somatic symptoms, unpredictable and uncontrollable automatic reactions to certain types of stimulation, loss of relationship with the self & the body, etc.

A lot of our thinking is based on unconsciously gathered ideas, which sometimes contradict who we really are and what we want. NLP techniques help to re-frame and re-align the architecture of your mind to better match your desired outcomes. It’s like the process of weeding your garden and tilling the soil ~ creating space for fresh new ways of thinking, feeling, and acting in the world.
Sometimes the things that hold us back are simply outdated and incongruent beliefs that we haven’t noticed. It’s like a favorite old sweater that you have outgrown - we’ll find the limiting factor and replace it with something that feels more spacious and aligned to your values.
NLP doesn’t require induction into trance states, these techniques are used in conscious conversation.
Ideal for: behavioral changes, confidence, self-awareness, internal conflict of values vs. desires, contradictory thinking, feelings of fear and uncertainty in regards to desired outcomes.

Does the mention of hypnotherapy immediately bring up imagery of couches and swinging pocket watches? That’s the stuff of the old days. Stage hypnosis is also very different from clinical hypnosis - I promise not to make you cluck like a chicken.
Modern hypnotherapy is nothing like it - it is pretty informal, conversational, and has become much more goal / solution - oriented (rather than problem-oriented). It’s an effective way of upgrading your subconscious operating systems, as our default settings were put into place way before we could make a conscious choice about them.
Deep trance states are not a requirement for a successful hypnotherapy session. It’s very rare that you would go completely unconscious, most of the time the process feels like a daydream with soft, relaxed awareness. You’ll remain cognizant, you can wake up any time, and you’re entirely in charge of what messaging will be conveyed to your subconscious.
Since most of your thoughts, feelings and actions are rooted in your subconscious beliefs and expectations of the world, hypnotherapy is effective for a wide range of conditions.
Ideal for: behavioral changes, weight loss, confidence, substance use, phobias, internal conflict, fear, and resistance, etc.

This one is all about using your body and your senses to affect your states. Your body is an incredible tool of agency out in the world. It can give you all kinds of information about the environments you’re in, and it can constantly inform you of who you are and what you need in any situation. So much of our thinking and feeling is based on external input - something happens, and you react. Sometimes those reactions are fleeting and pleasant, and sometimes those reactions can stay with us for decades.
Because your body is the inevitable intermediary between you and the world, it’s worth learning how to tune & play this incredible instrument. You can use movement, imagery, sound, touch, and certain kinds of internal awareness to put yourself in a variety of desirable states. You can soothe your anxiety in just a few minutes, you can invigorate your body for confident public speaking, you can support yourself to find grounding and safety in unfamiliar environments.
Psychosensory therapies are incredible tools for restoring your agency and calibrating yourself to get the most out of every situation. They’re excellent support for recognizing that you already are the person you crave to be - you just need to learn how to change a few of your settings.
Ideal for: building relationship with the self & the body, internal coherence, psychosomatic integration, grounding, cultivating presence, restoring agency & self-reliance, confidence, sensuality, etc.
